Island Peak (6189 m) is the most famous trekking peak of the Khumbu region of Nepal. Most of the trekkers who visit Nepal for the mountaineering choose this peak because of the perspective of being at the Everest Base Camp as well in their quest to be at top of the peak. Island Peak Climbing is also called as the Imja Tse climbing. Imja Tse is in the Sherpa dialect. Mantra Adventure has knitted this peak climbing in Nepal package in association with the Sherpa crew members who have already scaled the Mount Everest. Therefore, come and start your mountaineering aspiration or get warm up before scaling the higher mountains.
Island Peak Climbing in Nepal starts similar to the Everest Base Camp Trek. Trekkers will follow the same route up to Base Camp and return back to the Chhukung Valley for the ascent commencement. Please review our Everest Base Camp itinerary and details for more information about the attractions and villages present in the trail. Climbers will get the acclimatization training in the Island Peak base camp. The ascent of the Island Peak is considered as the easy but there are some crevasses and tiny ridge which needs the rope to ascend. Once at the top of Island Peak you will be blessed by the sight of Mountains as far as Makalu. The top is spacious and if the weather is good you can spend 10-15 minutes of time taking pictures. Some of our clients make call to their family after achieving such feat.
The peak is named Island because it is present in the middle of Lhotse Shar glacier. After a successful ascent of the Island Peak Climbing trekkers can enjoy their return trip back to Lukla in a joyous manner. The celebration with the crew members and the team will be momentous. You will be awarded the certificate.
