Initially, the journey commences with a daunting yet short flight to Lukla, the world’s dangerous airport. Then, the trip gets proceed through Phakding, Namche (The hub of Everest), and Dole. Afterward, it slowly descends to Machhermo (4410 m) and notices the fading tree lines on the trail. Again, the voyage gets us uphill following the jaw-dropping sight of Mt. Choyou (8188 m).

From here, trekkers will get to witness the first lake on the way to Gokyo Valley Trek. Finally, getting along with the rocky trails, we can reach the hamlet of Gokyo after passing the second lake.

Undoubtedly, the tea houses and lodges serving at the shore of Dudhpokhari offer sublime holiday experiences. From here, a short hike of Gokyo Ri (5360 m) is popular. Tip: If your time permits, you can explore the 4th and 5th lakes as well in Gokyo Valley.

Besides, Cho Oyu (8,153m) is seen towards the north from Gokyo, as a major retreat. Despite this, there are countless yet great sceneries all around the Gokyo valley. Arguably, the periphery of Gokyo lake boasts the best views in the Everest region.
