Holiday Itinerary
- DAY - 1
Arrival in Paro – Thimphu (1.2 hrs)
The joyous flight to Paro presents the splendid View of Mountains. Once you have landed in small dragon kingdom in Paro International Airport Mantra Adventure will take you to the hotel in Thimpu. If you are travelling from Nepal then our representative might accompany you to Bhutan from Nepal itself. Thimpu Valley Sightseeing of memorial Chorten and Buddha view point take place.
- DAY - 2
Thimphu – Paro (2. 5 hrs)
This would be joyous drive towards the Haa Valley. The rest in Chelela Pass which is located at an altitude of 3988m provides astounding view of Mt. Jomolhari during clean weather. The gorgeous Haa Valley awaits us for overnight.
- DAY - 3
Paro sightseeing
The glorious day of sightseeing in Paro formally takes place today. The drive to northern end of Paro Valley for the amazing hiking to Tiger Nest Temple takes place. Tiger Nest is the famous and symbol of national identity of Bhutan as well. The temple is on the vertical cliff above 900m from its foothill. This two hours of hiking helps to acclimatize for next day’s trekking. While returning back the historical Drukgyel Dzong and Kichu Temple are visited to pray for the best journey ahead.
- DAY - 4
Paro – Shana (Trek start). Distance 15k, walking time: 6h, sleeping altitude: 2800m.
Ancient Drugyal Dzong built by Shabdrung to mark victory against Tibetans in 1654 is visited first before trekking. The trail follows the historic site along the Paro Chu river passing by the village of Tshento.
- DAY - 5
Shana – Thangthangka. Distance: 21k, Walking time: 8h, Sleeping altitude: 3630m.
This is the rocky trail with numerous little uphill and downhill. The trail can become muddy during rainy season and the trail is along the Paro Chu River as well. This is the place where you will see the trail leading you towards Tibet.
- DAY - 6
Thangthangka – Jangothang. Distance: 16k, Walking time: 6h, Sleeping altitude: 4090m.
The settlements in this junction of the trekking are very limited. The camp in Jangothang will provide the majestic view of the Mt. Chomolhari. The place is famous for various ruins as you can see the numerous old settlements ruins.
- DAY - 7
Jangothang halt
Acclimatization is needed for the trekking. Therefore, a day’s rest will be in Jangothang. The hiking towards Tshophu Lake can be equally captivating for the trekkers which are about 2 hours from Jangothang. The night will be spent in Jangothang.
- DAY - 8
Jangothang – Yaksa. Distance 17k, walking time: 7h, sleeping altitude 4090m.
The trail again reaches the Lake which trekkers visited the previous day as part of acclimatization. Further two hours of trekking and crossing the Bongtey La pass here comes the spectacular view of Jichu Drakey and Chomolhari. The trail then descends towards Yaksa.
- DAY - 9
Yaksa – Thombu. Distance 14k, walking time 5h, Pass to cross: Thombu La, 4550m, sleeping altitude: 4150m.
The gradual uphill climbing of about two hours will appear the tree lines entering towards another valley. The pass will be of about one hour climb and finally trekkers will reach the meadow of Yak Herders. This place in Thombu will be the camp for this day’s trekking rest. In clear weather you can see the villages of Tibet as well.
- DAY - 10
Thombu – Gunitsawa. Distance: 17k, walking time: 6h, sleeping altitude: 2600m.
The steep climbing upwards will take you to the rocky cliff with very dangerous drop. About four hours of steep descending which is very vertical as well will take you to the check post. Further two hours of trekking will take you to the camp site of Gunitsawa.
- DAY - 11
Gunitsawa – Paro (Trek end). Distance: 10k, walking time: 4h.
This is the final day of the trekking. Once you have sighted the Drugyal Dzong the bus drive will take you back to Paro. You can stroll around Paro in evening.

Departure
Get back to your own home country or fly back to Nepal for more trips in Nepal.
